A Pearl of Great Price

What is the cause of your “irritation”?

Perhaps you are experiencing some unbearable pain.
~ You have been betrayed?
~ You have been ignored?
~ You are experiencing great physical suffering?
~ You may have been overlooked for that expected promotion?
~ You have lost someone you love?
~ You have suffered financial loss?

In the midst of your great pain, could it be that you are developing a “pearl”?  Perhaps you are thinking that this is at too “great a price”! BUT GOD knows how to “cover” your hurt and bring forth the BEST from those things that seemed to bring the greatest hurt!

⚛️LiveScience writes: “In order to protect itself from irritation, the oyster will quickly begin covering the uninvited visitor with layers of nacre — the mineral substance that fashions the mollusk’s shells. Layer upon layer of nacre, also known as mother-of-pearl, coat the grain of sand until the iridescent gem is formed.”

“Nacre” Equals God’s Grace

[Yes, I do believe the “nacre” in our life is the grace of God that covers our irritations and heals our wounds… and makes something beautiful out of the most painful situations (or irritations) in our life! … Only the Grace of God released in our life can do that! We can’t “manufacture it” – We can’t “produce it out of ourselves” – it comes from Him and is poured out in and through us … thus producing a precious “jewel” – that brings honor to Him!]

“The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.” (Matt.13:45-46)

Biblical Picture of This Pearl

[“We have discovered this treasure where it was hidden all along, in these frail skin-suits made of clay. We take no credit for finding it there! It took the immense power of God in the achievement of Christ to rescue our minds from the lies it believed.” 2Corinthians.4:7 TheMirrorBible]

(Footnote on 2Cor.4:7 above: The Greek word there for “earthen” strakinos, where we get our English word for “Oyster.” It is a great visual picture of how we carry a very valuable pearl within us. “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in an agricultural field, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” [Mt 13:44] God invested all that he has in the redeeming of our original value! He rescued the life of our design. Our inner life hosts the treasure of the life of our design. Jesus said in John 7:37,38, “If you believe that I am what the scriptures are all about, you will know that you are what I am all about and rivers of living water will gush out of your innermost being!”)

A Pearl You Cannot Purchase

And so it is absolute truth! You cannot purchase the lessons learned in developing the “pearls” of your life. Yet, those things are the most valuable possession you can have.  And His “Outrageous Grace” to you strengthens and proves the testimony of God’s amazing Love “covering the pain from your experiences.”

These pearls are things that others desire but cannot purchase with money. This is a precious gift from your loving Father whose desire is that you have the very best in your life!”  ~ Shelia Hart Artt
