A Tribute to Our Daughter – Tiffani Ann Artt

On January 8, 2011 – Coach Tiffani Ann Artt Finished Her Race!

Tiffani Ann Artt, 39, was born June 11, 1971 in Monroe, LA , and she passed from this life, on January 8, 2011, in Dallas, TX. She has fought a courageous fight against cancer for the past 18-months.

From five-years-of-age, she determined to play basketball and to coach, and she fulfilled that life dream, having coached High School basketball in Texas for 18 years, the last four years at Conrad High School in Dallas.

Tiffani completed her education at East Texas State University in Commerce, TX (now TX A&M @ Commerce) in 1993. As a 1989 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School, Tiffani set many school and district records in basketball, that she continues to hold. She also excelled at golf and softball.

She was honored as Coach of the Year by the Dallas School District several years, and her students were her passion. Tiffani made it her goal to assist outstanding high school athletes in obtaining college scholarships. Her passion lives on as many of her girls pursued coaching careers, so the Coach Tiffani Artt Scholarship is being established to help others fulfill their dream to coach and teach.

Tiffani’s family include her parents, Aaron and Shelia Artt; three sisters and their families, Traci and Andy vonGremp, Faith and Hope; Terri Alicia Artt and London; Tami and Duane Scoggins, Adam, Aryn Joy and John Paul; one brother, Timothy Artt and his sons Titus and Duncan. Her grandmother, Una Hart and grandfather, Bill Artt.

Her verse throughout this fight has been Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

So much could be said … it is sufficient that … “she has fought a good fight, she has finished her course; she has kept the faith” (from 2 Timothy 4:7) …

And her sister Traci said, just after she left us on that Saturday, “As competitive as Tiffani was, she loves this: she beat us there and SHE WON THE RACE!”
This was the obituary posted for Tiffani at her graduation in 2011, but I felt it fitting to share in remembrance of a life well-lived.
Today is January 8, 2015 – 4 years from the day she graduated and we still miss her, and celebrate her life. Mom (Shelia Hart Artt)
